I'm back in school. only on a 10 credit schedule, but nonetheless, i am back in school. this time, im taking it way more serious and not getting myself completely smoked out before every class/school function. it feels pretty damn good to be off of a roof and actually doing something that will get myself further than a hammer and nail.

im taking a geography class that is boring as shit, and a music class where i learn how to make beats better than yours. in the music class we are fucking with garage band, logic, ableton, and reason, all on the new imac's with an m-audio keyboard. funny thing is, the class was not advertised very well. everyone who signed up for this class were pleasantly surprised that it was this stuff and not a "read book/take test" class.

i played a lot of baseball in my childhood. was active all the way until high school started, where i then decided to play soccer. that's a whole other story, tho. anyways, the reason i mention baseball is because i would always have to wear an athletic supporter (cup) when i played. in 8th grade, i noticed that my left testicle was the size of a tennis ball. it didn't hurt, and i never thought it was anything crucial. it was more of a consistent uncomfortable feeling i was having, and alot of unnecessary weight on my scrtoum. haha, scrotum. i ended up having it looked at by a doctor, and finding out what the exact problem was. apparently, as a developing fetus, inside your mothers womb, a tissue is supposed to peel off of the testicle in order for fluid to drain out of it. mine never peeled off. i had the surgery, and from what i remember i was back to 100% within two weeks.

i am 23 years old. the same problem came back on the right testicle. i had the surgery, and am now recovering from it. let me tell you, it is alot worst as an adult. i can barely walk right now. my nut is swollen, and it feels like i just got kicked in the balls by a high heel. i have a bunch of percocet, but its starting to not really help. i am super thankful for my girlfriend, leighton, who has been taking good care of me during this shit ass time. my mom and grandma have been great, too. anyways, i thought i'd share my shit with you guys. at first there were thoughts of cancer being inside that little nut of mine. thank god it isnt cancer.

im doing good. i'll be fine sooner than later.

i met a-hyppa (andy hyppa) back in 2006 when i was going through half ass motions at tacoma community college. we kicked it a little bit, but nothing too major. definitely one of the only people i ever became homies with from tcc. when soccer season was over, i dipped out of tcc like an idiot. i never really talked to a-hyp for nearly 2 years after that. i went up to the rendevous room/jewelbox theatre a while ago for a wojack/josh rizeberg show, and suprisingly ran into andy in belltown. after chopping it up, i found out he had went to high school with josh rizeberg, and that it really is, a small world. that was the re-start of a-hyp and i kicking it tough. now, he is not only one of my best friends, but is also acting as my "manager", and helping me out with shit.

i live in old town, tacoma. right up the hill from johnnys dock on the waterfront. i had no idea that down the hill, a-hyp lived in this dope waterfront property which soon was turned into one of the coolest "hip hop" basements i have ever been in. with the walls painted by Pubs and Creds, the graffitti added a super nice vibe to the place when you're kicking it in there.

i have spent many days kicking it in this basement. i've walked to the basement. i've ran to the basement. i've laughed in the basement. i've rapped in the basement. i've hated in the basement. i made a gang of new friends in the basement.

anyways, a-hyp is moving out of his house in a couple days and decided to throw a going away party this past weekend. he invited a bunch of people over for one last rager with intentions of jamming the fuck out. here are some pictures that jake (http://jakeofalltrades.blogspot.com) took of the night.

this past weekend, todd and i finally started the recording process of our first album. we have been writing songs and playing shows for a solid year now, and finally have a list of songs that are worth calling an album. im super stoked on the project.

we had john mccrae, a professional sound engineer, set up shop down at my crib in the north end of tacoma, this weekend. old town/stadium district. here's the view.

we worked on the album all weekend. on friday, it was just myself and john. i layed my vocals on 4 solo joints that are all produced by todd sykes. i couldnt find my pipe, so i was smoking pot out of a pbr beer can during the session. some of the songs that i worked on were "90's shit", "sugar", and "filet de soul".

on saturday, todd came over and we were super productive. we got through about 6 joints, and got to kick it with the homies all day. some people who came through were fice, a-hyppa, eddie, leighton, kalen, and my old man. saturdays are my dads day off from dialysis, so he was able to stop by and sit in for a while. i made him check his blood sugar, and then made him a sandwhich.

we finished tracking vocals for 11 songs. we are hoping to have about 16 or 17 songs on the cd, but who fuckin knows. it took us 9 months to pick a solid set of beats that we feel comfortable with. this is my first album/meaniingful music that i have ever put out, and i am super exicted about it. dont ask when the release date is, because i dont know. hopefully, it will be soon.

i'll leak a song soon. something funky.

Seattle dance crew "Massive Monkeys" will take the stage on MTV's hit show, Americas Best Dance Crew. It's an all around great look for the guys, and i hope they get "massive" exposure due to this (not to take away the exposure that they already have). don't know any of them personally, but i am definitely going to watch the show and root for them at the same time. i think the show airs on august 9th. i think.

i have known about this guy for a minute. ever since i saw the video on 253hiphop.com, i was convinced that dude was one of the illest emcees in the state of washington. but i had still never met Shad, yet. last night, chillin over at a-hyp's spot, the whole "repp" came through to bbq and bullshit. shortly after being introduced to shad, the mixer,amp,macbook and computer speakers were in full effect.

i grew up in the north end of tacoma and have become accustom to partying for the 4th of july at the "freedom fair", which takes place down on the ruston waterfront. its a great place to people watch. you can see everything from a little kid with ice cream on her face to 10 cops breaking up a petty fight between two fifteen year olds. after you have seen enough of tacoma's finest resisdents, there is plenty of food to develop a gutbomb of a poop. i ate a burger with fries, corndog, ice cream cone, garlic fries, and a piece of corn on the cob. i shit something feirce that night.

this year was especially special. my good friend, Andy, decided to throw a party which was said to include a keg, bbq'ing, live rap performances, live grafitti, and just a good ol time. he lives directly on the train tracks down on the waterfront so the fireworks show was on point. i usually watch the fireworks from my own crib, but since the city decided to move the barge to the right a little bit, us residents at the top of McCarver hill were shit out of luck.

the party was on point. alot of good people came together this year for something pretty epic. some town favorites were definitely in the house. evergreenOne, rockwell powers, fice, kingston from LOV, dave from "the cool", dance broomz, eddie cash, a-wall, blockrepp, jhill, josh rizeberg, dfks, pubs, and a bunch of others.
